just re read recently some stuff about the church being filled not with volunteers but with dedicated servers. the idea that everyone is a minister. it worries me that the church only attaches worth to things that can be measured. perhaps the best things in life and in ministry can’t be measured. this little phrase - I think it belongs to McLaren - means a lot to me “The purpose of life (or ministry) is not to measure. The purpose of life (and ministry) is to matter.” Christian greatness comes through getting our hands dirty in the service of Jesus.
