Have just watched a great film that throws light on a neglected group who paid a high price for their patriotism. These are the anti-fascist refugees from Spain, Hungary, Poland, Armenia, Italy and other countries, most of them Jews and communists, who saw France as the cradle of freedom and played a significant role in the Resistance. People of courage. But courage costs.
